What do relocation services cost in Australia?
Australian relocation services quote prices more openly than in many countries, but not every firm does. Our research on 6 October 2026 found that several firms publish prices. This guide uses the two we list on ReloFinder, and read again on 7 October 2026. Euro figures use 1 EUR = 1.6097 AUD (ECB reference rate, 5 October 2026), and are our conversion.
In Australia, “relocation agency” often means a removalist who moves your belongings. The prices here are for the other meaning: a service that finds a rental, a school and set-up help for people arriving. Visa advice is a separate service: see our guide to moving to Australia for who may give it.
What do home-search packages cost?
| Package | Price |
|---|---|
| Relocate Australia, Standard | From AUD 3,000 plus GST (EUR 1,864) |
| Relocate Australia, Deluxe | From AUD 4,000 plus GST (EUR 2,485) |
| Relocate Australia, Platinum | From AUD 5,500 plus GST (EUR 3,417) |
| Journee, Perth property search | From AUD 3,850 (EUR 2,392) |
What each page lists:
- Standard: a consultation, unlimited home search, inspection shortlisting, agent liaison, a condition report, utility help and a welcome pack.
- Deluxe: Standard, plus a short-term accommodation search, school search and a city orientation.
- Platinum: Deluxe, plus airport transfers, settling-in help (banking, insurance, car hire, memberships) and house set-up with five shopping hours.
- Journee search package: rental application collation, a renter profile, a shortlist, off-market options, six viewings, lease discussion, key collection, condition reports and utility guidance.
Sources: Relocate Australia and Journee, both read 7 October 2026. Both say “from”, so read the final quote.
What does a single viewing cost?
Journee lists single property viewings from AUD 350 each, about EUR 217. The price covers a video tour, photos and a summary report from an on-site expert. It is a remote option for a person who cannot be in Perth. You can use it to judge a few homes before you commit to a package.
What do extras cost?
- Hourly extras. Relocate Australia lists AUD 100 an hour, about EUR 62, for additional services such as housekeeping, personal assistance, furniture rental and nanny services.
- Home set-up. Journee lists a two-day on-site service from AUD 2,495 (Enhanced Living) to AUD 2,995 (Bespoke Living), about EUR 1,550 to EUR 1,861. It covers buying essentials such as beds and appliances, coordinating deliveries, unpacking and setting up the kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms.
- Schools. Journee lists a schools package from AUD 795 per family, about EUR 494, for up to three children: school research, enrolment, uniforms, booklists and bus timetables.
- Consults, tours and applications. Journee lists 60-minute video consults from AUD 99, half-day orientation tours from AUD 650, full-day tours from AUD 995 and a rental application set-up from AUD 500 per couple.
Is GST included, and when do I pay?
Relocate Australia shows its prices plus GST, the Australian goods and services tax. Journee’s pricing page does not say how GST is treated, so ask before you accept. On payment, Relocate Australia lists 50% before the service starts and 50% on completion. Journee lists an initial advice call at AUD 69 that is refunded when you book its property search package.
What moves the price?
- Scope. The Relocate Australia ladder runs from search only to search plus school, orientation, settling-in and set-up, a difference of AUD 2,500 between Standard and Platinum (our arithmetic).
- Number of viewings. Journee includes six viewings in the search package, and sells further viewings from AUD 350 each.
- Location. Journee’s prices are for Perth. We did not find on Relocate Australia’s page which cities its packages cover, so ask.
- Household. A family adds schools, a couple adds a rental application, a single person may need neither.
- Hours. Extras billed by the hour grow with the time.
How do the two price lists compare?
They are built differently, so a straight comparison misleads. Relocate Australia sells three levels of scope: Standard includes unlimited home search, and Deluxe and Platinum add school search, orientation, settling-in and set-up. Journee sells a search package with a stated number of six viewings and prices each add-on separately, so the total depends on what you pick. One shows GST separately and the other does not say. The only fair test is to ask both for a written estimate for your own household, in the same city, with GST stated.
What do I pay on top of the service fee?
The landlord’s side has its own costs. In New South Wales a bond is at most four weeks’ rent and rent in advance at most two weeks (NSW Government, read 7 Oct 2026). In Victoria a bond is one month’s rent, more if the weekly rent is above AUD 900 (Consumer Affairs Victoria). Budget for these as well as the fee, and see our guide to renting in Australia as a foreigner for how the pieces fit.
Who pays: you or your employer?
If you hire a firm yourself, the fee is yours. Corporate programmes are priced per case and not published. If your employer offers support, ask which firm it uses and which of these items are covered before you hire anyone. The first 90 days guide gives the order of the steps.
What should I ask before I pay?
- Is the price a package, an hourly rate or a viewing fee, and does it say “from”?
- Does the price include GST?
- What is in the package, and how many viewings?
- When is payment due, and what is refundable?
- Who does the work, and is the person licensed or registered where the law requires it?

What we could not source
We found no published price for the other firms we list, and no price for a typical full package in Sydney or Melbourne. Other specialists that are not listed on ReloFinder also publish prices, and we name only firms we list. Journee’s page does not say how GST is treated. Prices change, so check each page before you decide.
