About 1.48 million people arrived in Germany in 2025 and net migration was about 235,000 (Destatis). Asking rents in the third quarter of 2026 were EUR 21.65 per m2 in Munich, EUR 17.12 in Frankfurt and EUR 14.63 in Berlin (immowelt). You must register your address within two weeks of moving in, and a relocation agency typically handles home search, immigration and registration paperwork, and school search.

Published private-client prices on agency websites, read on 5 October 2026: Archer Relocation lists home search from EUR 990 and an immigration package from EUR 830, with 19% VAT included. Your Berlin lists packages at EUR 990 (Startup), EUR 1,990 (Basic, plus EUR 90 per viewing), EUR 2,390 (Advanced, 5 viewings) and EUR 2,790 (Premium, 10 viewings included). Local Worldwide Relocation lists an orientation package at EUR 450, short-term temporary housing at EUR 910 and a long-term House & Home package at EUR 2,285. Relocraft bills EUR 85 an hour plus 19% VAT (price list valid from 1 July 2026). The home-search and bundled packages listed here run from EUR 990 to EUR 2,790; 'from' prices can be higher once an agency has quoted your case. We found no published prices for corporate packages paid by employers.

The foreign population was 14,070,225 at the end of 2025, and Indian nationals numbered 311,130, up from 277,455 in 2024 (Destatis). About 134,500 people received a first work-related residence permit in 2025, up from about 120,200 in 2024 (BAMF). Of the 2025 permits, 34,510 were EU Blue Cards, and 128,090 Blue Card holders lived in Germany at the end of 2025 (BAMF).
